Butter — For this Easy Gluten Free Bechamel Sauce (Classic) recipe, we use unsalted butter. If you only have salted butter,eliminate the salt in the recipe. Follow the directions for melting the butter.
Milk – You can use any kind of milk you have on hand, we used 2% for this Easy Gluten Free Classic Bechamel Sauce (Classic).
Salt —A pinch of salt to taste is used for the Easy Gluten Free Classic Bechamel Sauce (Classic). If you're using salted butter you may wish to eliminate the added salt.
Optional Ingredients: Nutmeg or pepper
Additional Dry Ingredients: salt, pepper and nutmeg
Wet Ingredients: whole milk, butter

This simple Easy Gluten Free Classic Bechamel Sauce (Classic) is easy to make! It adds a classic and sophisticated touch to any meal.
It is:
● Smooth and creamy

Recipe:
● 1 cup whole milk
● 2 Tbsp Butter
● 2 Tbsp QUeen Milling All Purpose Gluten Free Flour Blend (Fine)
● Salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.

Step 1:

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
Step 2:

Once the butter is melted add the flour and whisk continuously until smooth. This will take about 1- 2 minutes.

Continue whisking the sauce and slowly pour the milk into the pan. YOU MUST continue to whisk until the milk is well incorporated.

Continue whisking and cooking for another 2-3 minutes. The sauce should be smooth and lump free. Add a small amount of milk to thin the sauce if required.

Remove from heat and season to taste.
Step 3:
- If the sauce feels too thick you can add more milk.

The sauce will continue to thicken off of heat.

Store in refrigerator for 2-3 days. Press plastic film against the mixture to prevent skin forming.
